Although Evanston was not the scene of widespread looting like Chicago and several other American cities this past weekend, local police still had plenty to deal with, including four shots-fired reports,12 thefts (including a pickpocket), slashed tires, and a sidewalk assault that are among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin.

Assault

700 Custer

An aggravated assault occurred in the 700 block of Custer Avenue around 11 a.m. yesterday when a victim was confronted by a suspect who displayed a weapon.

Battery

1900 Dewey

A victim was shot in the leg in an alley in the 1900 block of Dewey Avenue around 10 p.m. Saturday.

828 Elmwood

Lukeo Mhoon, 29, of 2110 Dewey Ave., was arrested at 828 Elmwood Ave. at 9:11 a.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery.

1802 Hartrey

Ronald L. Shears, 23, of  8058 S. Exchange Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1802 Hartrey Ave. at 7:11 a.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery.

Burglary

2100 Green Bay

A burglar pried open the door to enter Walgreens Pharmacy in the 2100 block of Green Bay Road between 1:50 a.m. and 1:58 a.m. today.

900 Howard

An attempt was made by a burglar to defeat the lock to a pawn shop in the 900 block of Howard Street at 5:23 p.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

2400 Lake

Someone slashed the rear tire of a 2018 Nissan in the 2400 block of Lake Street between 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:34 a.m. Friday.

Darrow at Greenleaf

Both the front and rear window of a 2018 Ford were broken between 9 p.m. Saturday and 8:39 a.m. yesterday at Darrow Avenue and Greenleaf Street.

2600 Reese

Someone spray-painted a 2004 Ford in the 2600 block of Reese Avenue between midnight Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday.

2500 Ashland

Someone damaged the synthetic carpet at St. Athanasius School in the 2500 block of Ashland Avenue between 5:11 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

300 Custer

A tire was slashed on a 2017 Hyundai in the 300 block of Custer Avenue between 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.Friday.

Graffiti

3200 Central

Graffiti was discovered at a park in the 3200 block of Central Street at 9:25 a.m. Saturday.

2300 Green Bay

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 2300 block of Green Bay Road at 8:26 a.m. today.

Shots Heard

Chicago at South Boulevard

Gunshots were reported in the vicinity of Chicago Avenue and South Boulevard at about 11 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

1200 Darrow

Gunshots were reported in the 1200 block of  Darrow Avenue at 6:58 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

2100 Dewey

Gunshots were reported in the 2100 block of Dewey Avenue at 8:49 p.m. Saturday.  Police checked the area but found nothing.

100 Clyde

Gunshots were reported in the 100 block of Clyde Avenue at 2:18 a.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

800 Dodge

Food items were taken from a convenience store in the 800 block of Dodge Avenue between 9:02 p.m. Saturday and 7:34 a.m. yesterday.

2200 Howard

A 2015 Toyota was stolen from a business parking lot in the 2200 block of Howard Street around 7:04 p.m. yesterday.

800 Elmwood

Property was taken from the bedroom of an apartment in the 800 block of Elmwood Avenue around 8 a.m. Friday.

1100 Chicago

Food items were taken from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Alcoholic products were stolen from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Cosmetics were stolen from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 10 p.m.Saturday.

1200 Chicago

A package containing clothing thatwas delivered to a condominium in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue was stolen between 2:45 p.m. Thursday and 12:24 p.m. Friday.

1600 Sherman

A television set was taken from a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 10:36 a.m. Tuesday.

1100 Davis

A pickpocket removed credit cards from a victim’s purse at the Evanston Postoffice around 2 p.m.Thursday.

600 Davis

A 2019 Subaru was stolen from the 600 block of Davis Street between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Oak

A theft was reported at an apartment in the 1700 block of Oak Avenue around 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

300 Chicago

A cell phone and credit cards were removed from a victim’s hand in the 300 block of Chicago Avenue around 11 p.m. Saturday.

1810 Cleveland

Mark Davis, 53, of 214 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1810 Cleveland St. at 10:21 p.m. Thursday and charged with possession of stolen property.

Traffic

1430 Sheridan

Christopher Trimuel, 22, of 1000 Grove St., was arrested at 1430 Sheridan Road at 4:12 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
