First Bank & Trust and its holding company, First Evanston Bancorp, Inc., announced today the election of Stephen H. Hagerty to the board of directors to serve a three-year term, effective Sept. 1.
Chairman and CEO Robert R. Yohanan said in a statement, “We are excited to welcome Steve to the board. Steve has developed an excellent reputation as a solid business person who is deeply committed to the well-being of his community, and we think he will provide excellent direction for the bank.”
Hagerty is the founder and CEO of Hagerty Consulting, a company that consults with municipalities nationwide on preparing for and recovering from disasters.
A longtime customer of the bank, Hagerty is also involved with many local nonprofit institutions. He is a board member of Youth Organizations Umbrella (Y.O.U.), an executive committee board member of the non-profit economic development organization Evanston Investure and past president of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce.
Hagerty holds bachelor’s of science and master’s in public administration degrees from Syracuse University.
