Dime-sized hail accompanied by lightning, thunder and drenching rain rolled across Evanston overnight.

There were scattered reports of trees down across the city, and some buildings flooded on the Northwestern University campus. Reports from the Tribune and Sun-Times this morning indicate that, based on the number of power failures, portions of the metro area south of Evanston got the worst of the storm.

Foggy weather is expected for the morning commute, with a possibility of more storms later in the day.
