snow-plow

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Evanston — predicting we’ll get four to eight inches of snow by this evening.

The snow is expected to begin around mid-morning.

The weather service says snow will occasionally fall very heavily — with possibly up to two to three inches per hour falling for parts of the afternoon — causing snow-covered roads with visibility reduced to zero at times making travel extremely difficult.

Temperatures are expected to be above freezing Tuesday through Thursday, which should melt some of the snow — but that has forecasters worried about flooding along rivers throughout the region.
