snow-plow

Snow plows are expected to be on the streets across Evanston overnight as a winter storm blankets the city with a predicted four to seven inches of snow.

The National Weather Service says rain will change to snow, becoming heavy at times this evening.

The snow is expected to be heavy and wet, with snowfall levels of an inch or more per hour after 8 p.m.

Strong winds may severely reduce visibility on the roads through the night.

The weather service advises that because of the high water content of the snow, persons with health concerns should use caution when shoveling.

As of this hour, the City of Evanston has not issued any snow parking restrictions ahead of the storm.
