Overnight an additional half inch of snow fell in Evanston as measured at the municipal service center.

Streets and Sanitation Superintendent James Maiworm says snowfall is expected to resume late in the morning and continue through midnight. An additional one to one-and-a-half inches of snow is expected. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 30s today.

As of 6 a.m., Maiworm says, all snow routes and secondary roads are plowed and wet. All residential streets have been plowed curb to curb where possible but the overnight snowfall has covered them back over.

Cleanup operations will continue today with the residential streets and snow route parking lanes being the primary focus. As people leave for work, Public Works crews will look for open spots and push back the snow where possible.

Although Maiworm says a snow emergency is not in effect, residents are encouraged to follow even – odd parking restrictions to assist Public Works in the cleanup efforts.
