A burglar found a backpack with a handgun upon entering an unlocked Chevrolet on Maple Avenue. This among stories in Thursday’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

BURGLARY
1700 Maple
A burglar gained entry to an unlocked 2010 Chevrolet in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday and found a backpack with a Glock 19 handgun inside.

800 Greenleaf
A burglar damaged the driver’s side door handle to gain entry to a 2009 Kia in the 800 block of Greenleaf Street around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday. Nothing was reported missing.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
900 Grey
Someone damaged the window of a home in the 900 block of Grey Avenue between 4 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. Tuesday.

GRAFFITI
Greenwood at Elmwood
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk near the intersection of Greenwood Street and Elmwood Avenue at 11:54 a.m. Wednesday.

2000 McCormick
Graffiti was discovered at a park in the 2000 block of McCormick Boulevard at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.

900 Ridge
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 900 block of Ridge Avenue at 10:17 a.m. Wednesday.

700 Ridge
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 700 block of Ridge Avenue at 10:18 a.m. Wednesday.

900 Elmwood
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 900 block of Elmwood Avenue at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday.

1200 Oak
Graffiti was discovered at a park in the 1200 block of Oak Avenue at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday.

OTHER
1618 Benson
Christopher L. Scott, 42, of 9021 Federal Court, Des Plaines, was arrested at 1618 Benson Ave. at 1:21 a.m. Tuesday and charged with disorderly conduct. He is due in court on July 21 at 9 a.m.

THEFT
525 Main
Aaron M. Schreiber, 40, of 2002 W. Birchwood Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 525 Main St. at 7:43 p.m. Tuesday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on July 19 at 9 a.m.

600 Chicago
Household goods were stolen from the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue at 9:19 p.m. Wednesday.

800 Judson
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2011 Mitsubishi in the 800 block of Judson Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2007 Toyota in the 800 block of Judson Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

TRAFFIC
1599 Ridge
Geba Bogdanov, 51, of 2801 W. Fargo Ave., was arrested at 1599 Ridge Ave. at 12:47 a.m. Thursday and charged with driving under the influence.

1900 Dodge
Jordan Montrize Dorsey, 23, of 1719 Grey Ave., was arrested at 1900 Dodge Ave. at 8:35 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation.

2125 Howard
Jose A. Garcia Pineda, 38, of 7432 N. Damen Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2125 Howard St. at 3 a.m. Monday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on July 19 at 9 a.m.
