Park Ridge City Manager Jim Hock, in announcing the appointment this week, said Kaminski was chosen from a field of 64 candidates in a search assisted by the state police chiefs association.

“I’m confident Frank Kaminski is not only the most qualified candidate, but also the best fit for the City of Park Ridge, Hoch said.
Kaminski is a graduate of Northwestern University’s graduate school of management and holds a master of public administration degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago.

He started as a patrolman on the Evanston police force three decades ago.
