The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Evanston that will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. today.

We’re already under a wind advisory this morning.

Southwest winds are expected to increased to nearly 40 miles per hour with gusts to 60 miles per hour, and then shift to westerly this afternoon.

Te weather service says the wind will create very hazardous travel conditions for high-profile vehicles.

And it says any light weight outdoor objects should be secured or brought indoors to avoid property damage.
