The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory in effect from now through 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
Winds from the southeast are expected to gust between 40 and 45 miles per hour this evening and gusts to 55 miles an hour or higher are possible in heavier showers this evening.
Winds are expected to shift to westerly by Thursday morning and to gust between 40 and 50 miles per hour through the day.
The weather service says the storm may make driving difficult and may cause minor tree damage.
