The giant Christmas tree set up by city crews in Fountain Square on Wednesday blew over in the high winds that hit the area today.

Accounts from downtown workers say the tree fell over about 11 o’clock this morning.

As of early evening city crews were still waiting for the wind to die down before trying to set it upright again.
