The Evanston History Center has been approved as a provider of Continuing Professional Development Units by the Illinois State Board of Education and will start offering courses for educators next month.
EHC Curator of Education, Dr. Jenny Thompson, says she is looking forward to expanding programs for District 65 teachers, as well as for educators throughout the state.
“Our history kit program, along with our workshops, lecture series, and archives, have been extremely popular with teachers in the past,” Thompson said.
“And now that we have been granted status as an approved CPDU provider, we are focused on offering even more resources to educators and getting the word out about the esources EHC offers.”
The center is located in the national landmark Charles Gates Dawes House at 225 Greenwood St.
