Evanston could get another half-inch to inch of snow this afternoon and early evening.
Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says the snow is expected to start falling around 3:30 p.m. and stop by about 6:30 p.m. — which means it's likely to affect rush hour traffic.
Maiworm says public works crews are spreading anti-icing compounds on main roads and hills and will have a full crew available to plow and salt as needed — starting with the main roads and continuing on the residential streets overnight.
"We anticipate requesting residents to voluntarily abide by the alternate parking regulations starting tomorrow to give Public Works a chance to clear the parking lanes of all snow accumulations," Maiworm added.
