Hockey equipment stolen from home on Seward

Burglars took hockey equipment from a home in the 1700 block of Seward Street. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

812 Church

Blair M. Devine, 31, of 1400 Greenleaf Street, was arrested at 812 Church St. at 9:42 p.m. Thursday and charged with battery. She is due in court on Jan. 10 at 9 a.m.

Burglary

1700 Seward

Burglars entered a home in the 1700 block of Seward Street through an open door and stole hockey equipment between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Saturday.

Drugs

1620 Washington

Curbert Leon Estava, 33, of 1620 Washington St., was arrested at that address at 8:17 p.m. Thursday and charged with a drug violation. He is due in court on Jan. 5 at 10:30 a.m.

999 Howard

Bryan J. Shepard, 26, of 814 Brummel St., was arrested at 999 Howard St. at 9:06 p.m. Thursday anad charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is due in court on Jan. 30 at 9 a.m.

Graffiti

Noyes at Green Bay

Graffiti was discovered on Chicago Transit property at Noyes Street and Green Bay Road at 2:22 p.m. Friday.

Theft

2400 Howard

Alcoholic products were stolen from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street at about 3:45 a.m. and again at 7:50 p.m. Friday.

1200 Lee

Merchandise delivered to a home in the 1200 block of Lee Street were stolen between 12:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday.

1700 Central

Jewelry was taken from an apartment in the 1700 block of Central Street between noon and 3:30 p.m. on August 10.

2600 Ridge

A purse left unattended at Evanston Hospital was stolen between noon and 5:15 p.m. Friday.

2300 Noyes

A hat, binder, and headphones were stolen from an apartment in the 2300 block of Noyes Court between 8 p.m. on Dec. 11 and 7 a.m. yesterday.

1900 Foster

A cell phone left unattended at a home in the 1900 block of Foster Street was stolen around 10 a.m. yesterday.

2209 Howard

Jacqueline M. Dunn, 42, of 1913 Foster St., was arrested at 2209 Howard St. at 5:43 p.m. Saturday and charged with retail theft. She is due in court on Jan. 10 at 10:30 a.m.

2450 Main

Miriam Gaeta Ron, 37, of 37 E. Division St., Chicago, was arrested at 2450 Main St. at 7:07 p.m. Friday and charged with retail theft. She is due in court on Jan. 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Traffic

300 Sheridan

Arsal Asghar, 31, of 7024 W. Greenleaf St., Niles, was arrested at 300 Sheridan Road at 7:20 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation.

South Boulevard at Hinman

Neal E. Benjamin, 19, of 336 Callan Ave., was arrested at South Boulevard and Hinman Avenue at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation.

Darrow at Greenleaf

Reggie J. Harris, 50, of 1128 Darrow Ave., was arrested at Darrow Avenue and Greenleaf Street at 9:46 p.m. Dec. 6 and charged with a traffic violation.

911 Foster

Thomas Hounsou, 29, of 2020 Farwell Ave.. was arrested at 911 Foster St. at 6:20 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Jan. 13 at 1:30 p.m.

Church at Hovland

Victor J. Jackson, 54, of 1265 Cunningham Drive, Calumet City, Ind., was arrested at Church Street and Hovland Court at 9:46 p.m. Thursday and charged with driving under the influence.

1619 Benson

Warren D. Pitts, 50, of 1613 Lake St., was arrested at 1619 Benson Ave. at 8:09 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Jan. 10 at 10:30 a.m.

1700 Oakton

Miriam Lucilla Portillo, 41, of 3501 N. Southport Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1700 Oakton St. at 10:17 a.m. on Dec. 5 and charged with a traffic violation.

1325 Howard

Jafar Tutil, 36, of 7217 N. Campbell Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1325 Howard St. at 8:14 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
