Armed robbery

101 Asbury

At 11:43 p.m. Wednesday an armed robber demanded money from the register at the CVS Pharmacy at 101 Asbury Ave. Related story.

Auto theft

Brummel at Callan

Police recovered a stolen 2007 Pontiac. The car had been taken at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday from the intersection of Brummel Street and Callan Avenue after the owner jump-started the car and left it running to charge up the battery. It was recovered at 11:20 a.m. in the 7300 block of Rogers in Chicago.

Burglary

2400 Grant

Someone stole a white Cannondale Synopse bicycle from an unlocked garage in the 2400 block of Grant Street between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

2400 Noyes

Someone stole liquor, a purse and cash from a 2011 Mazda parked in an unlocked garage in the 2400 block of Noyes St. between 1 and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

700 Dobson

Someone stole a gym bag from an unlocked 1996 Dodge parked in the 700 block of Dobson Street between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Criminal damage

2300 Lincolnwood

Someone damaged a screen at a single family home in the 2300 block of Lincolnwood Drive between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Theft

Someone stole a black and red Trek bicycle that was locked to a bike rack in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue between 12:30 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Traffic

7578 N. Western

John C. Tamay, 35, of 6303 N. Campbell Ave. in Chicago, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. Monday at 7578 N. Western Ave. in Chicago and charged with a traffic violation. He’s scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 13.
