The City of Evanston has started its annual post-holiday Christmas tree recycling program. You’ve got until the end of the month to get your tree out onto the parkway for pickup.

Pickups take place on the same day as refuse collection in your neighborhood each week.

The Public Works Department asks that all lights and decorations be removed from the tree and to not place the tree in a plastic bag — to avoide damaging the equipment used to turn the trees into mulch.

Trees will not be picked up from alleys or private property.
