Evanston police say a 76-year-old man and his 39-year-old son were the victims of a home invasion about noon today in the 1300 block of Dewey Avenue.

The attacker — described as a 30-year-old black male with a goatee, about. 6-feet tall and weighing 180 pounds — was wearing all black clothes with red gym shoes,

He went from room to room in the house claiming to be looking for guns. He then fled out the back door and left in a northwestly direction on foot.

Polinski says officers searched the area buit were unable to locate him..

The victims were transported by Fire Department paramedics to Evanston Hospital where the father was treated for a neck injury and the son for facial injuries, All their injuries were considered minor in nature.

Polinski says the break-in doesn’t appear to be random, and that detectives are continuing to investigate the case.
