Evanston police say a 34-year-old homeless man was charged with retail theft Saturday morning at the Walgreens drug store on Chicago Avenue.

Police also report weekend arrests for aggravated assault and for domestic battery, among other incidents.

Burglars tried — or succeeded — in breaking into a home, a car and two garages — all south of Main Street.

And shoplifters hit stores on Chicago Avenue and Emerson Street.
