A homeless man, living out of his car in a grocery store parking lot, reported to police that some of his clothes were missing from the 2004 Hyundai Sonata that he used as his home. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.
Theft
2400 Howard
A homeless man who was living in his 2004 Hyundai Sonata in a grocery store parking lot in the 2400 block of Howard Street, told police that someone stole clothing out of the trunk of his car sometime between Sept. 12 and Wednesday.
1000 Grove
A wallet was stolen out of the McGaw YMCA between noon and 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
1900 Ridge
A bicycle that was secured in the common area of an apartment building in the 1900 block of Ridge Avenue, was stolen between 6:15 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. Wednesday.
900 Davis
A bicycle was stolen from a Chicago Transit Authority depot bike rack in the 900 block of Davis Street between 11:35 a.m. and 11:55 a.m. yesterday.
Burglary
1400 Seward
A homeowner called police when she saw an intruder attempt to open a locked door and window at her home in the 1400 block of Seward Street at about 12:41 p.m. yesterday. By the time police arrived, the suspect was gone.
Graffiti
Prairie at McCormick
Graffiti was discovered at a park at Prairie Avenue and McCormick Boulevard at 11:11 a.m. yesterday.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
