Evanston police say the two men who were shot to death Friday in Evanston have been identified as residents of Glenview and Des Plaines.
Jose Francisco Sanchez Guerrero, 21, lived in the 10400 block of Deerlove Road in Glenview. Demarcus Anthony Cokley, 20, lived in the 600 block of Lee Street in Des Plaines.
They were both transported to Evanston Hospital by fire department paramedics where they died of their injuries.
A third man shot in the incident, an 18-year-old Evanston resident, suffered several gunshot wounds that were described as non-life-threatening and was treated at Evanston Hospital.
Police say they’re seeking a man wearing a dark hoodie and grey sweat pants who approached the victims about 11:45 a.m. as they gathered on a porch at 1811 Hovland Court and fired several shots before fleeing north on foot across Emerson Street.
Cmdr. Brian Henry says detectives from the Evanston Police Department and NORTAF Major Crimes Task Force are investigating. There are no suspects in custody at this time.
