The CTA viaduct on Howard Street will be closed to westbound traffic for the next three weekends and again for two weekends in June.

The Chicago Transit Authority say the closure marks the start of contract work to rebuild the Howard Street station.

Westbound traffic will be rerouted south onto Ashland Avenue, west on Rogers Avenue and then north on Clark Street back to Howard.

The detour will be in effect from 7 p.m. Friday, May 12, through 5 a.m. Monday, May 15, and again from May 19-22, May 26-30, June 16-19 and June 23-26.

A map showing the detour route is included with the attachment below.
