Hygiene products were stolen from a supermarket on Chicago Avenue and a man was charged with shoplifting from the downtown Target. These are among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

1700 Sherman
A purse was taken from an unlocked 2015 Nissan parked on the street in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue between 9:26 and 9:34 a.m. Thursday.

Theft

1100 Chicago
Two instances were reported of theft of hygiene products from a supermarket in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue between 6:28 and 6:40 a.m. and again at 3:32 p.m. Thursday.

700 Church
Unsecured cash was taken from an office building in the 700 block of Church Street between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. Thursday.

1616 Sherman
Cashell William, 67, 2353 W. Jarvis in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft at the Target store at 1616 Sherman Avenue at 3:26 p.m. Thursday. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 11.


Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
