The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning for Evanston that will be in effect from 6 p.m. this evening until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Edgar Cano of Evanston’s Public Works Agency says crews are now out anti-icing roads with salt brine and workers have been schedule for the duration of the storm.

The weather service says  we could get one tenth to four tenths of an inch of ice from this storm.

Power outages and tree damager are possible because of the ice, the forecasters say, and travel could be nearly impossible on untreated surfaces.

Cano adds that we can expect another round of freezing rain from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.
