Indian art taken in burglary on Washington

A Native American painting was among items taken in a burglary in the 700 block of Washington Street.  This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Assault

100 Clyde

A victim reported being shot at in the 100 block of Clyde Avenue around 4 a.m. yesterday.

552 Sherman

Tammy Robinson, 34, of 2125 Church St., was arrested at 552 Sherman Ave. at 11:26 p.m. on Sept. 12 and charged with aggravated assault. She is due in court on Sept. 17 at 9 a.m.

Burglary

1000 Judson

An umbrella, cash, and keys were removed from a 2005 Toyota in an unlocked garage of a home in the 1000 block of Judson Avenue between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. Thursday.

600 Custer

A men’s bicycle was stolen from the garage of a home in the 600 block of Custer Avenue between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday.

700 Washington

An unlocked window provided access to an apartment in the 700 block of Washington Street between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Jewelry, movie DVDs, and a Native American painting were taken in the burglary of an apartment in the 700 block of Washington Street between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday.

300 Kedzie

A laptop computer, a wallet, and a cell phone were stolen from an unlocked 2013 Chevrolet in the 300 block of Kedzie Street between 8 p.m. and 8:22 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Emerson

A cell phone was stolen from an apartment in the 1700 block of Emerson Street between 7 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. yesterday.

1100 Mulford

A chainsaw, a leaf blower, and a hedge trimmer were taken from the unlocked garage of a home in the 1100 block of Mulford Street between 7 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

1100 Colfax

A window was shattered on a 2002 Honda parked on the street in the 1100 block of Colfax Street between 8 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

Dodge at Emerson

Jeremy A. M. Cummings, 30, of 1425 22nd, Gary, Ind., was arrested at Dodge Avenue and Emerson Street at 2:15 p.m. yesterday and charged with criminal damage to property. He is due in court on Oct. 11 at 9 a.m.

Graffiti

900 Chicago

Graffiti was discovered at a construction site in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue at 1:59 p.m. Thursday.

800 Dempster

Graffiti was discovered on a sidewalk in the 800 block of Dempster Street at 8:09 a.m. Friday.

Other

1217 McDaniel

Anthony Paxton Willis, 22, of 2017 W. Berwyn, Chicago, was arrested at 1217 McDaniel Ave. at 4 a.m. Wednesday and charged with criminal sexual abuse. He is due in court on Sept. 27.

Shots Heard 

1400 Brummel

Gunshots were reported in the 1400 block of Brummel Street around 11 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Greenleaf at Dodge

Gunshots were reported near Greenleaf Street and Dodge Avenue at 10:54 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1000 Chicago

Someone used a false document to purchase a 2013 Mercedes-Benz automobile from a car lot in the 1000 block of Chicago Avenue between May 30 and 4:15 p.m. Friday.

900 Chicago

A brown purse was stolen from a business establishment in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue between 12:08 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday.

1500 Sherman

A wallet was removed from a purse at a restaurant in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue between 6:40 p.m. and 7:58 p.m. Friday.

1100 Pitner

Two Sony speakers were stolen from a home in the 1100 block of Pitner Avenue between 7 a.mm. and 8:15 a.m. Friday. Suspect is a known offender.

2400 Asbury

Packages delivered to a home in the 2400 block of Asbury Avenue were stolen between 10:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 31.

1700 Sherman

A wallet was removed from a purse at a restaurant in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue at about 1:34  p.m. Saturday.

1800 Hovland

A bicycle was stolen from the sidewalk in the 1800 block of Hovland Court between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday.

1000 Howard

A purse-snatching attempt was reported in the 1000 block of Howard Street around 5:33 a.m. Friday.

Traffic

1900 Greenwood

Patrick R. Downie, 56, of 1804 Lemar Ave. was arrested at 1900 Greenwood St. at 10:41 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation.

1525 McDaniel

Lakeitha V. Gore, 34, of 1525 McDaniel Ave., was arrested at that address at 12:47 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Oct. 31 at 9 a.m.
