It’s bike-stealing season again

Warmer weather brings out the bikes and those who steal bikes. Today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police tells of two bikes stolen from an unlocked garage on Asbury and two wheels taken off a bike locked to a bike rack.

Burglary

1100 Asbury

Two bicycles were stolen from an unlocked garage of a home in the 1100 block of Asbury Avenue between noon Sunday and 6:30 a.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

2900 Hartzell

The rear window of a 2013 Dodge was damaged in the 2900 block of Hartzell Street between 5:30 p.m. Monday and 7:15 a.m. yesterday.

Theft

900 Davis

Two wheels were removed from a bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 900 block of Davis Street between 1 p.m. Friday and 1:15 p.m. Monday.

Traffic

7600 Sheridan

Krishma D. Patel, 35, of 11842 Canon Drive, Orland Park, was arrested at 7600 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, at 3:14 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on May 24 at 10:30 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
