THEFT

1300 Seward

A 2009 Jeep was stolen from the 1300 block of Seward Street between 5:21 p.m. Wednesday and 5:21 a.m. yesterday.

1100 Chicago

A shoplifter took cosmetics from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 7:40 p.m. yesterday.

1100 Grove

An unsecured Raleigh road bike was stolen from the sidewalk in the 1100 block of Grove Street between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

BATTERY

1921 Dodge

Harold Shelton, 35, of 1921 Dodge Ave., was arrested at that address at 6:05 a.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Sept. 2 at 9:30 a.m.

BURGLARY

1100 Florence

Nothing was taken from an unlocked 2019 Chevrolet that was burglarized in the 1100 block of Florence Avenue between 2 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday.

300 Florence

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2019 Ford in the 300 block of Florence Avenue around 2:30 a.m. yesterday.

2000 Pratt

A burglar climbed through an unlocked window of a home in the 2000 block of Pratt Court between 11:13 p.m. and 11:18 p.m. Wednesday and stole wireless headphones, a tablet computer, and cash.

2100 Maple

A laptop computer and gaming accessories were taken from an unlocked apartment in the 2100 block of Maple Avenue between 11:15 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

1700 Hovland

A burglar broke through the front door of a home in the 1700 block of Hovland Court between 10 a.m. on Aug. 13 and 10:42 a.m. yesterday. Nothing was reported taken.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Hartzell at Prospect

Someone damaged the windows of a 2019 Jeep at Hartzell Street and Prospect Avenue around 8:45 p.m. yesterday.

OTHER

1300 Church

Jesus N. Hernandez, 27, of 1806 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1300 Church St. at 6:20 p.m. yesterday and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

2025 Ashland

David A. Weiner, 40, of 2025 Ashland Ave., was arrested at that address at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday and charged with disorderly conduct.

SHOTS HEARD

900 McDaniel

Gunshots were reported in the 900 block of McDaniel Avenue at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

TRAFFIC

1200 Dempster

Baldomero Atempa, 40, of  6622 N. Sacramento Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1200 Dempster St. at 3:29 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 14 at 10:30 a.m.

2005 Emerson

Crystal T. Beckford, 26, of  9008 W. Ballard Road, was arrested at 2005 Emerson St. at 9:34 p.m. Sunday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Sept. 23 at 10:30  a.m.

1820 Ridge

Devon L. J. Howell, 25, of 1825 Hartrey Ave., was arrested at 1820 Ridge Ave. at 9:33 a.m. Monday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 13 at 1:30 p.m.

2211 Oakton

Oscar Jaime, 44, of 5724 N. Artesian St., was arrested at 2211 Oakton St. at 12:10 a.m. Sunday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m.

300 Ridge

Jeannie S. Ortiz, 29, of 2459 W. Balmoral Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 300 Ridge Ave. at 7:52 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation.
