Jeff Hirsh has joined the Evanston Now reporting team after a 40-year award-winning career as a broadcast journalist.
Hirsh retired last year from WKRC-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to Evanston.
He won more than 40 local, regional and national awards for excellence in reporting, including 26 regional Emmy Awards.
Hirsh is also a three-time winner of the Sigma Delta Chi Award from the national Society of Professional Journalists, once for the Best Documentary in the U.S., and twice for the Best Investigative Reporting.
His work at Evanston Now is funded in part by contributions to the Evanston Now COVID-19 Local News Fund to expand our coverage of the pandemic and by our Evanston Now subscribers.
Ongoing support from our readers makes it possible to continue to enhance our coverage.
Welcome, Jeff
Welcome to the Evanston Now reporting team, Jeff.
You’ll find that the careers of all your teammates included some time in the broadcasting field.
That adds a skill of immediacy that enhances our contribution to our coverage in the online sector, which combines the immediacy of broadcasting with the permanence of print.
