Burglary

600 Callan

Jewelry and a laptop computer were among items taken in the burglary of a home in the 600 block of Callan Avenue between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

700 Case

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2013 Toyota in the 700 block of Case Avenue between 7 p.m. Friday and 12:28 p.m. Saturday.

Criminal Damage

3200 Central

A temporary ice rink in the 3200 block of Central Street was damaged around 8:25 a.m. Saturday.

Robbery

1600 Emerson

A robber tackled his victim from behind in an alley in the 1600 block of Emerson Street around 5:50 p.m. Saturday and took his cell phone.

Shots Heard

2000 Harrison

Gunshots were reported in the 2000 block of Harrison Street at 12:27 a.m. yesterday. Police searched the area but found nothing.

2700 Central

Gunshots were reported in the 2700 block of Central Street at 8:22 p.m. yesterday. Police searched the area but found nothing.

Theft

1500 Main

An unlocked red 2004 Chevrolet was stolen from the 1500 block of Main Street between 7 p.m. Friday and 9:20 a.m. Saturday.

1600 Seward

A package containing a gaming system that was delivered to a home in the 1600 block of Seward Street was stolen between noon Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

700 South Boulevard

A silver four-door 2105 Volkswagen was stolen from the 700 block of South Boulevard between 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

1500 Hinman

A package delivered to a condominium in the 1500 block of Hinman Avenue was stolen around 6:15 p.m. Friday.

800 Noyes

Someone tampered with a chain fence at a construction site in the 800 block of Noyes Street and stole 65 pipes between 2:20 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Friday.

100 Asbury

Someone stole frozen food from the CVS Pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue around 5:45 p.m. Friday.

1910 Dempster

Kevin A. Hunter, 57, of 1024 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 1910 Dempster St. at 7:30 a.m. Sunday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Jan. 18 at 9 a.m.

Traffic

1919 Dempster

Javier Rivera, 33, of 2117 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 1919 Dempster St. at 1:30 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Jan. 10 at 9 a.m.

817 Church

Gentian Shegaj, 40, of 2416 N. Erie St., River Grove, was arrested at 817 Church St. at 10:17 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Jan. 12 at 10:30 a.m.

1920 Asbury

Christian J. Stangl, 41, of 811 Case St., was arrested at 1920 Asbury Ave. at 8:49 p.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Jan. 30 at 1:30 p.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
