Jewelry missing in Hinman burglary

A sterling silver bracelet and costume jewelry were among items missing after a burglary at an apartment in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue on Tuesday. This among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

1735 Darrow

Jay L. Clifton, 34, of 1735 Darrow Ave., was arrested at that address at 10:18 p.m. Sunday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on April 13 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

700 Hinman

A sterling silver bracelet and costume jewelry were missing after the burglary of an apartment in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue between 11:10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. yesterday.

Drugs

1228 Forest

Hari H. Lele, 19, of 1228 Forest Ave., was arrested at that address at 4:15 p.m. Monday and charged with possession of  a controlled substance. He is due in court on March 22 at 9 a.m.

Other

2500 Central Park

Police investigated a report of a man with a gun who was seen in the 2500 block of Central Park Avenue around noon yesterday. The area was checked, but no man with a gun was found.

Theft

951 Howard

William C. Wade, 24, of 1360 W. Touhy Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 951 Howard St. at 4:47 p.m. Saturday and charged with theft. He is due in court on April 5 at 10:30 a.m.

2301 Oakton

Brittney Elizabeth Laarveld, 30, of 3107 W. Jarvis, Chicago, was arrested at 2301 Oakton St. at 12:09 p.m. Monday and charged with retail theft from a hardware store. She is due in court on April 8 at 9 a.m.

Traffic

1327 Chicago

Edmund Michael Hourican, 43, of Woodbury, N.J., was arrested at 1327 Chicago Ave. at 11:35 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on March 31 at 10:30 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
