The latest issue of the Columbia Journalism Review takes a look at the media market here in Evanston.

The story notes that, compared to most U.S. residents, Evanstonians have a rich selection of local news sources to choose from — but suggests that short staffing makes it difficult for any publication to do a lot of in-depth coverage.

CJR, published at Columbia University, is marking its 50th anniversary of reporting on the news business this year.
