The Evanston/Skokie District 65 School Board Friday announced its schedule for selecting a replacement on the board for Eileen Budde, who resigned this week for personal reasons.

Applications must be submitted by July 9 to Adeela Qureshi, the board’s recording secretary.

Interviews with the board will be scheduled for July 21 and 22, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The name of the new board member will be announced at a special board meeting early in August, before the Aug. 12 deadline set by state law.

An eligible candidate must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the district for at least a year.

Ms. Budde’s term would have ended in April 2015. One of the questions to be asked of her potential successors will be “Would you intend to run for a full term from May 2015 – May 2019?”

Applications are available at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Ave., and can also be downloaded from the District’s website.
