An 18-year-old victim, thinking he was meeting an acquaintance from social media, was jumped by five men in the 1600 block of Foster Street. This among stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

ROBBERY

1600 Foster

An 18-year-old man told police he drove to the 1600 block of Foster Street, expecting to meet an acquaintance from social media, when he was jumped by five Black teenage men at about 5:42 p.m. Monday. The offenders took his cell phone, but he managed to snatch it from an offender’s hands as the group left. The victim had minor injuries and refused medical attention, police said.

BATTERY

1307 Oak

Robert E. Redman, 47, of 942 Timber Hill Road, Highland Park, was arrested at 1307 Oak St. at 10:24 p.m. Tuesday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on May 5 at 9:30 a.m.

BURGLARY

500 Barton

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2016 Jeep in the 500 block of Barton Avenue at about 6:08 a.m. Tuesday.

600 Barton

Clothing was taken from an unlocked 1997 Mazda in the 600 block of Barton Avenue at about 6:08 a.m. Tuesday.

800 Seward

A wallet was taken from an unlocked 2007 Toyota in the 800 block of Seward Street at about 7:24 p.m. Tuesday.

1200 Asbury

Burglars used a pry tool to enter the garage of a home in the 1200 block of Asbury Avenue, where they stole a bicycle between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

300 Ridge

Miscellaneous items were taken from an unlocked 2015 Jeep in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue between 7 p.m. Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.

700 Austin

Miscellaneous items were taken from an unlocked 2016 Subaru in the 700 block of Austin Street between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

2200 Oakton

The rear tailgate was damaged on a 2018 Toyota Camry while the owner was in the Home Depot store in the 2200 block of Oakton Street just before noon on Wednesday.

600 Main

Someone slashed the tires of a bicycle secured to a bike rack in the 600 block of Main Street between 7:10 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

600 Sheridan

The front door frame of a home in the 600 block of Sheridan Road was damaged around 11:37 p.m. Wednesday.

1200 Judson

The glass was damaged on the front door of a home in the 1200 block of Judson Avenue around 3:30 a.m. today.

500 Davis

Someone scratched the driver’s side door of a 2016 Hyundai in the 500 block of Davis Street between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Monday.

800 Brummel

Black paint was discovered on the outside trim of the foyer door of a building in the 800 block of Brummel Street at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday.

THEFT

2200 Oakton

Tools were stolen from a store in the 2200 block of Oakton Street around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday.

2500 Oakton

Cash was taken from a towed 2017 Jeep at the towing company’s lot in the 2500 block of Oakton Street between 4:27 p.m. Tuesday and 6 p.m. yesterday.

800 Monroe

Someone gained entry to an unlocked 2017 Mercedes in the 800 block of Monroe Street between midnight and 8 a.m. Monday and used the vehicle’s keys to steal it.

 1000 Davis

Alcoholic products were stolen from a liquor store in the 1000 block of Davis Street around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

1700 Greenwood

Packages were stolen off the porch of a home in the 1700 block of Greenwood Street around 5:13 p.m. Wednesday.

2600 Ridge

A large amount of metal building materials was taken from Evanston Hospital between January 2 and 8:54 a.m. Tuesday.

2300 Sherman

A gray Bianchi bicycle was taken from a bike rack in the 2300 block of Sherman Avenue between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on April 16.

1332 Dodge

Duron Witherspoon, 53, of 1715 Brown Ave., was arrested at 1332 Dodge Ave. at 5:31 p.m. Wednesday and charged with theft. He is due in court on July 2 at 9 a.m.

TRAFFIC

1600 Hinman

Barbara C. Cassano, 35, of 1600 Hinman Ave., was arrested at that address at 8:43 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on June 10 at 1:30 p.m.

712 Main

William K. Eason, 45, of 1821 Leland Ave., was arrested at 712 Main St. at 11:40 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation.

600 Dempster

Shantell M. Landfair, 27, of 836 E. 81st St., Chicago, was arrested at 600 Dempster St. at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation.

137 Custer

Isidra Rodea Gonzalez, 42, of 3558 W. Leland Ave., was arrested at 137 Custer Ave. at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on May 28 at  10:30 a.m.

2100 Dempster

Haydee Ruiz, 79, of 2011 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 2100 Dempster St. at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday and charged with a traffic violation. Ruiz is due in court on May 21 at 9 a.m.

2728 Bryant

Colin R. Sallee, 31, of 2743 Princeton Ave., was arrested at 2728 Bryant Ave. at 4:32 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on June 10 at 1:30 p.m.

1950 Green Bay

Juan Valadez, 46, of 1922 Foster St., was arrested at 1950 Green Bay Road at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on May 24 at 9 a.m.
