Officials say Evanston snow plow crews managed to hit all the main and secondary streets and some residential streets overnight to deal with a fresh inch of snowfall.

Today, Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says, crews will continue cleanup on all streets, sidewalks and parking lots. And residential streets will be salted.

More snow is on the way for Sunday, Maiworm says. It’s expected to start around 5 a.m. and snow steadily until about 10 a.m., dropping about three inches on the city.

Another band of snow in the late afternoon and evening is expected to add another half inch to the Sunday totals.

And, wouldn’t you know it, that will be followed by very cold temperatures for several days.
