A Lincolnwood youth has been charged with aggravated battery in connection with a shooting Friday night in a parking lot behind Evanston Township High School.

Police say the teenage suspect turned himself in at Evanston police headquarters on Saturday and that additional suspects are being sought for questioning.

The victim told police three people he knew approached him in the parking lot about 9 p.m. and started arguing with him. Then one of the assailants pulled out a handgun and fired a shot that struck the victim in the abdomen, and the attackers fled the scene.

Paramedics transported the victim to St. Francis Hospital where he was treated and released.

A hearing on the charges is scheduled for Feb. 17 in Skokie district court.
