All this week Evanston/Skokie School District 65 students in grades three through eight are taking the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT). Depending on the child’s grade level, areas tested include reading, mathematics, science, and writing.

ISAT is the state assessment used to measure academic achievement for students in Illinois and is part of the state and federal public education accountability system.

Data gathered from ISAT testing is important to the district and to our families. District and school level results are reported by the state in summer. Individual student results are reported and sent to families in the fall.

Families are encouraged to help prepare their children for success on the ISATs by ensuring that the children are well-rested and come to school ready to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding about what they have been taught.

Thank you in advance for helping your child and our district successfully complete this important state testing. Parents who have questions about ISAT testing are encouraged to contact their child’s school.
