The principal of Evanston’s Kingsley Elementary School, Beatrice Davis, will become the interim director of human resources for District 65, effective July 1. She will be replaced at Kingsley by Tricia Murray, currently the district’s special services supervisor.
The promotions were announced at the Evanston/Skokie District 65 School Board meeting Monday night by Superintendent Hardy Murphy, who lauded the appointees as “leaders in their current positions.”
Davis began her career at the district in 2004, when she was a primary grade teacher at the former Timber Ridge School (now Bessie Rhodes). She was the interim assistant principal at Oakton Elementary School during 2007-08 and interim principal at Kingsley for 2008-09, with formal appoinrtment to the principalship in 2009.
Murray joined the district staff in 1995 as a school psychologist. She has been in her current position since August 2012.
Davis replaces Dr. Beth Sagett-Flores, who resigned last year to take a superintendent position at Golf School District 67.
