The Evanston Varsity Baseball team fell behind 3-0 and 5-1 and eventually came back to tie the game 6-6 through 7 innings, but could not answer 2 Deerfield runs in the 8th and lost to visiting Deerfield 8-6 Saturday.

Eli Otting continued his power surge with a solo home run in the first inning (his record breaking 11th homerun on the season) and Jack Blanchard had 2 hits and 2 RBI for the Kits.  But ultimately, Evanston could not overcome its 7 walks, 2 hit batsmen and 5 errors.

The Kits used 4 different pitchers.  James Allen started and was relieved by Martin Fenn and Jack Blanchard.  Zach Anderson took the loss.

The Kits fall to 16-11-1 and 7-7 in the CSL.  They wrap up the CSL schedule this week with games today and Wednesday with rival New Trier.
