It was the tale of two games for the Wildkits baseball varsity team today in Vero Beach, Fla.

In the first game, Evanston pounded out 21 hits and 20 runs upending undermanned Burlington, Vt., 20-2.

An eight run second inning put the game out of reach as the Kits built a 10-0 lead.

Seven Evanston players had at least two hits each highlighted by Ben Marienthal’s 3-for-4, 3 RBI day.

Jackson Mihevc, Quinn Mannard, Ben Drake, Eli Otting, Miles Porter and Mark Roth all had 2 hits. Mackenzie O’Neil, Andrew Nummy and Martin Fenn combined on a 4 hitter.

In game two, Vero Beach High School jumped on the Kits with a sixp-run first inning and never looked back.

The lone bright spot for the Kits was Eli Otting’s relief appearance.  He pitched 3-2/3 innings giving up only one earned run.

Tuesday the Kits end their spring trip with two more games. Their current record is 7-2-1.
