The Kiwanis Club of Evanston has invited kids from District 65, District 202, and St. Athanasius to collect cash for UNICEF when they make their trick-or-treat rounds this Halloween.

This year’s contributions will be directed toward eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus, according to Dr. Scott Hopf, who heads up the initiative for Kiwanis.

In the past 13 years, the Halloween donations to UNICEF from Evanstonians has netted more than $50,000, according to local Kiwanis officials.
