An assault was reported at Maple Avenue and Davis Street yesterday involving an offender in a wheelchair with a knife. This among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Maple at Davis

An offender, described by police as a black male in his 40s in a wheelchair, displayed a knife to a homeless, 64-year-old victim on the sidewalk at Maple Avenue and Davis Street around 3 p.m. yesterday.

Burglary

608 Dempster

Ken Daigoro Yokoyama, 36, of 842 Custer Ave., was arrested at 608 Dempster St. at 4:26 a.m. yesterday and charged with burglary.

Graffiti

300 Main

Graffiti was discovered at noon yesterday in the 300 block of Main Street.

Theft

1600 Sherman

Someone stole an unsecured cell phone at L. A. Fitness in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 10:30 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. yesterday.

700 Mulford

Someone stole U.S. mail that was unsecured in the 700 block of Mulford Street around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

 An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
