The City of Evanston has announced facility closures and service schedules for the 2018 Labor Day holiday weekend, Saturday through Monday.

Refuse Collection: No refuse collections will occur on Labor Day. Monday through Thursday trash, recycling and yard waste collections will occur one day later in the week than usual. Friday condo recycling collections will occur on Friday, Sept. 7.

Facilities: The Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center will be closed Sept. 1-3. All Evanston Public Library locations will be closed on Sept. 2 and 3. The Chandler-Newberger Center will be closed Sept. 1-3. The Evanston Ecology Center will be closed Sept. 2 and 3. The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, Levy Senior Center, Noyes Cultural Arts Center and Robert Crown Center will be closed Sept. 3.

Beaches: Evanston public swimming beaches will be open Sept. 1-3 from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

311: The Evanston 311 Center will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3. The 311 Center will also be closed on Saturday and Sunday, according to its normal operating schedule.

Parking: No street cleaning will occur on Monday and street cleaning parking restrictions will not be in effect. Parking meters/pay boxes and downtown parking garages will be free on Labor Day. In addition, other restricted areas that have signs that prohibit parking except on holidays will be honored.
