Evanston city services will be affected by the Labor Day holiday on Monday. And the holiday will be the last day for swimming at city beaches.
Beaches will be open over the weekend, Saturday through Monday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
There’ll be no refuse collection on Monday, so collections will be one day later than usual next week, except for Friday condo recycling collections which will take place on Friday.
The Civic Center remains closed due to COVID-19. Evanston Public Library locations will be closed on Sunday and Monday.
The Chandler-Newberger Center, Evanston Ecology Center, Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, Gibbs-Morrison Center, Levy Center and Noyes Cultural Arts Center will be closed Saturday through Monday, except for rentals. The Robert Crown Center will be open on Saturday and Sunday for regularly scheduled programming.
The Evanston 311 Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and closed on Sunday and Monday.
No street cleaning will occur on Monday so street cleaning parking restrictions will not be in effect.
Parking meters, pay boxes and downtown parking garages will be free on Monday. And Monday counts as a holiday for areas that have signs that prohibit parking except on holidays.
