Lake-effect snow forecast for Thursday in Evanston has failed to materialize — although some other sections of the metro area have seen it — especially in northwest Indiana.

But the city has not lifted snow parking restrictions imposed after Wednesday’s storm that dropped about five inches on the city.

So alternate-side snow emergency parking rules are still in effect on residential streets until until 6 p.m. Thursday, banning parking on the odd-numbered side of the street, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, banning parking on the even-numbered side of the street.
