The City of Evanston announced that two lanes will be closed on Davis Street Friday to accommodate the erection of structural steel on the main roof of the building project at 614 Davis St.

The two westbound one-way lanes will be closed from Chicago Avenue to just past the west alley access side of the site.

The sidewalk will remain open along the south side of Davis between Chicago Avenue and Orrington Avenue, with pedestrian traffic being controlled with on-site flaggers.

All lanes are expected to be back in operation by the end of the day, the city said.

The location is the former site of the Giordano’s dance studio.
