Burglary

1900 Wesley

A laptop computer was stolen from a 2016 Volkswagen in the 1900 block of Wesley Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. yesterday.

2300 Harrison

Clothing and food items were taken from an unlocked 2018 Acura in the 2300 block of Harrison Street between 6 p.m. Saturday and 7:45 a.m. yesterday.

Shots Heard

700 Dobson

Gunshots were reported in the 700 block of Dobson Street at 8:42 p.m. Sunday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1600 Orrington

Moving boxes left unattended in an apartment common area in the 1600 block of Orrington Avenue were stolen around midnight today.

Traffic

415 Howard

Rafael Contreras, 37, of 2529 W. Jerome St., Chicago, was arrested at 415 Howard St. at 1 a.m. today and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Sept. 12 at 10:30 a.m.

1800 Ridge

Michael P. Gallen, 34, of 5944 W. Wilson Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1800 Ridge Ave. at 1:34 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m.

1285 Hartrey

Adeola O. Obasanya, 27, of 415 Howard St., was arrested at 1285 Hartrey Ave. at 12:03 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Dodge at Dempster

Venus J. Wilson, 58, of 8128 W. Dempster St., Niles, was arrested at Dodge Avenue and Dempster Street at 8:56 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
