Large rooster statue stolen from yard

A rooster statue standing between five feet and six feet tall was stolen from a yard earlier this week. This among the stories in today's daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

1900 Colfax

A residence in the 1900 block of Colfax Street was burgled between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. yesterday after someone gained access to the home via a bedroom window.

Drugs

7500 N. California

Kilet Shamoun, 56, of 6517 N. Troy, Chicago, was arrested at 7500 N. California Ave. in Chicago at 8:06 p.m. Wednesday and charged with possession of a controlled substance. A court date was set for 10:30 a.m. April 22.

519 Chicago

Nathan E. Vanorder, 27, of 411 S. 4th Ave., Streator, was arrested at 519 Chicago Ave. at 1:20 a.m. today and charged with a drug paraphernalia ordinance violation. A court date was set for 9 a.m. May 19.

Shots heard

2400 Main

Shots were reported heard in the 2400 block of Main Street at 1:24 a.m. today. The area was checked and nothing was found.

Theft

2700 Broadway

A five to six-foot tall red, blue and yellow metal rooster statue was stolen from a yard in the 2700 block of Broadway Avenue between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. yesterday. The suspects are described as two white men standing five-foot-ten-inches tall weighing 150 pounds and six-foot-three-inches tall weighing 180 pounds.

Traffic 

800 Ridge

Galyna Bezruchko, 47, of 3100 N. 76th Ave., Elmwood Park, was arrested at 800 Ridge Ave. at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date was set for 1:30 p.m. May 27.

723 Main

Ivan Marijanovic, 55, of 7405 Keeler, Skokie, was arrested at 723 Main St. at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date was set for 10:30 a.m. April 21.

1410 Asbury

Joseph Irwin Virgen, 46, of 1973 W. 111th St., Chicago, was arrested at 1410 Asbury Ave. at 11:45 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. A court date was set for 10:30 a.m. April 28.
