Early voting for the presidential election ends at 5 p.m. today at the Evanston Civic Center.
If you were figuring you’d vote early to avoid lines at the polls next Tuesday, you’ll probably be disappointed.
When we checked Wednesday afternoon the line reached all the way down the first floor corridor from Room 1700 back to the main door to the building.
Several thousand people have already cast their early ballots at the Civic Center and report delays of an hour to 90 minutes.
But despite the delays, one voter called the experience inspiring.
Early voting starts at 8:30 this morning. Voters need to take a government-issued photo ID with them to the Civic Center.
