Members of Evanston’s delegation in Springfield will hold a forum on education issues with local school board members Thursday, Nov. 3.
The session, featuring Sen. Jeff Schoenberg, and Reps. Robyn Gabel and Daniel Biss, will include members of the joint jegislative task force from the School District 65 and 202 boards, will run from 7 t0 8:30 p.m. in the board room of the District 65 administration center, 1500 McDaniel Ave.
Schoenberg says the forum will focus on how Evanston’s legislators can become more effective champions of both student achievement and community development as they pursue policies toward producing a better educated and productive work force that is well prepared to tackle an increasingly competitive job market.
Local community organizations and public education stakeholders have been invited to this event to build stronger coalitions of support for bridging gaps in the resource delivery system to students.
The event is free and open to the public.
