The Evanston Public Library will host its annual Holiday Book Sale on Friday, Dec. 9, through Sunday, Dec. 11.
The sale features hundreds of items suitable for holiday gifts. It is also a place that booklovers can choose some great stories for themselves to escape into during the long winter season.
The Evanston Public Library will host its annual Holiday Book Sale on Friday, Dec. 9, through Sunday, Dec. 11.
The sale features hundreds of items suitable for holiday gifts. It is also a place that booklovers can choose some great stories for themselves to escape into during the long winter season.
The book sale is run by 14 dedicated volunteers and additional community supporters.
Book sale volunteer Barbara Handler says, “We have over a dozen categories of books which are arranged by their sub-categories on our shelves… We also have CDs, DVDs, audio book and VHS tapes.”
If you would like to get a sneak-peak before the doors officially open, the Special Preview Sale will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. until noon. The admission to the preview is $5.
The regular book sale runs Friday, Dec. 9 from noon until 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, from noon until 5:30 p.m., all books and media will be sold at half-price.
All proceeds from the sale directly benefit the Evanston Public Library. The sale takes place in the third floor book sale room of the downtown library at 1703 Orrington Ave.
