The Evanston Public Library announced Tuesday that its North Branch, at 2026 Central St., will be closed for most of August for maintenance work.

The branch will be closed from July 31 through Aug. 28.

Repairs and energy efficiency improvements to the North Branch will include new lighting, ventilation, heating and cooling systems, and new water service, the library stated in a news release.

While the work is going on, the branch’s book drop will not be in use and there will be no holds available for pick-up.

The branch is scheduled to re-open on Aug. 29 at 10 a.m.
